The registration website for the Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education’s (OCTAE) annual national meeting for adult education state directors is now available. To register, visit

The meeting is being held Tuesday, August 30, through Thursday, September 1, in Alexandria, Virginia. According to OCTAE, “participants will have an opportunity to interact with senior administration leaders, federal partners, and other stakeholders on policy related to adult education programs and implementation of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The meeting will include several hands-on, small group working seminars (plan to bring your laptop) during which state staff can work through implementation challenges and solutions.”

There will be a meal registration fee to cover the cost of light refreshments and lunches, and states are responsible for all travel and lodging expenses. (Funds available through AEFLA administrative or state leadership categories, within statutory maximums, may be used to support meeting attendance.) The cutoff for registering for a hotel room is July 25, 2016.
