Welcome New State Directors The National Adult
Education Professional Development Consortium, Inc. (NAEPDC) was created by
and for state directors of adult education to
assist with our professional development and public policy needs. We know
what it’s like to be the “new kid on the block.” We’ve all been there! As a
new state director, you have been given a wonderful opportunity to guide your
state’s literacy efforts. You have also been given a tremendous
responsibility for shaping and directing the delivery of quality adult
education programs, maintaining accountability, coordinating efforts with
other stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with Federal directives. Initially, some of these responsibilities may seem overwhelming to you. Remember: NAEPDC is here to help you along your new journey. In addition to the variety of services that NAEPDC provides to all state directors, we have developed specialized assistance for new state directors.
